As we gather to celebrate the magic of Christmas, we reflect on the values that guide us at Living Water Resorts — a sense of gratitude, community, and the spirit of giving.

 

This festive season is a special time for our team as we consider our commitment to our guests, our dedicated team members, and our local community.

 

 

Our Core Question

 

Our culture at Living Water is about caring. We want to do good deeds and dig deeper to find ways to support our valued guests, team members, and community.

 

For over 30 years, we have focused on building a people-centred company culture with actionable love, compassion, justice and humility at its foundation.  

 

Every day, we consider how we can enhance the experience for our beloved guests. We ask ourselves how we can further support the team members who serve with unwavering dedication. Additionally, we reflect on ways to contribute positively to our surrounding community.

 

I make a commitment to constantly reflecting on the many changes at the resort. Who we serve with love and care and who might benefit from this love and care.

 

With our team's support, we created a resort that brings joy to many visitors and guests.

 

However, when I asked myself the "What more can we do?" question three years ago, I realized that we weren't directly serving the many senior people who had visited us in the past or were fractional owners or timeshare members.

 

Asking the question prompted the decision to build the Living Water Retirement Residence. This unique vision of resort-style retirement living will open on March 1st, 2025. This is truly a wonderful opportunity for senior living with all the benefits of a resort setting.

In this holiday edition of the Serving With Caring Hearts newsletter, we share inspiring stories that embody our Christmas spirit and highlight the caring community we've nurtured. Our team's commitment to improvement has resulted in a year of achievements that continually surpass our expectations.

 

Art and Culture at Our Resort

 

As you step into the Living Water Resort & Spa, you’ll notice stunning stone sculptures crafted by talented Zimbabwean artists. The sale of these sculptures not only provides a source of income for the artists but also supports the local Blue Mountains Foundation for the Arts through our donation of sales commissions.



Our long hallway connects the front lobby with the Living Shore Spa and Lakeside Seafood & Grill, serving as both a passage and an experience.

 

It features a visual history exhibit of Collingwood, educating visitors about the region's rich heritage — from its first settlers and indigenous communities to its evolution into a vibrant, year-round destination driven by entrepreneurial spirit. Families are encouraged to learn together, connecting history with their contemporary experience.

 

Additionally, this corridor doubles as a gallery for local artists. Visitors are welcome to explore and purchase unique artworks to remember their stay, supporting our community's creative talents.

 

Supporting Our Community

 

As highlighted in the selected stories within this newsletter, our commitment to the community remains strong. We proudly support Georgian College hospitality students through scholarships and fundraising initiatives, and we've joined local churches to offer free hot dog lunches for students. Our team members are actively involved in various volunteer efforts, including food delivery and support for those in need.
