The Collingwood Elvis Festival is well underway! Since Wednesday, the fun has not stopped as the city celebrates the King of Rock n’ Roll.
Cranberry Resort kicked off the Festival with great music from wonderful performers. The Start Me Up Showcase invited guests to an open mic night before the Elvis Champions performed. Next, Live and Original Semi-Finals took place on the Discovery Stage. Here, 8 finalists belted it in a new talent competition.
On Thursday, guests tied up their blue suede shoes at Stop, Look & Listen to watch Festival Grand Champion Matt Cage take the stage. Next, there was two Head-to-Toe Battles held at local venues where two participants or competitors go head-to-head for prize money (Elvis) or points (Live & Original). These events were fun, exciting opportunities where the crowd did the judging. At night, highlights included the First Hurrah Karaoke Welcome event took place, where everyone was doing the jailhouse rock and “The Elvis Evolution,†bringing guests down memory lane to revisit Elvis’ years of success.
This morning, the Vendor walk allowed guests to wander various vendor booths with unique crafts & gift items, or have some fun at the interactive booths including OLG, media sponsors and others. Following, fans crowded the Georgian Bay Biomed Awesome Street Party for a free showcase of all the registered Elvis Tribute artists.
